Hmm...please not Gani Adams. He can sell everybody for oil money. Remember how he threatened and intimated Yoruba in Lagos with his boys just because he had been paid by PDP and Jonathan.

Aaare Ona kakanfo is not a always crowned in Oyo, due to the militarization of the iBADAN's , the Olubadan only has the power to crown the Generallisimo

Olubadan can only give one the title of Bashorun, and Bashorun is a title that can be given by any king as long as that Bashorun attaches the land in which he was given the Bashorun, e.g Bashorun Egba, Bashorun Ibadan - Bashorun Ibadan is the most popular anyway. Aare ona kakanfo can only be given by the Alaafin of Oyo and it is the most popular title in Yoruba land.

It is wrong to say that the Ibadan Basorun is the most popular in Yorubaland. The title originated in Oyo as Iba Osorun, which when inflected in pronounciation, became Basorun, just like Iba Ologbo, another popular Oyo chieftaincy, inflected and pronounced Balogbo.
